The tour begins in San Francisco, heading through the Marina district and the Presidio before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge for a 10 minute photo stop. The trip heads North through the rolling hills and scenery of Marin County. Your tour enters the wine country in the southern region of Carneros, just south of Sonoma. You will visit between 3 and 4 wineries including both a large vineyard and a smaller boutique winery. Your visit will include winery tours and some free tastings.

These Wine Country tours are both fun and informative. Our most common winery visits include some of the following choices:

Ferry to Alcatraz and Alcatraz Island Tour

After a short 10 minute ferry ride from Pier 33 across San Francisco Bay you will arrive on the infamous Alcatraz Island. The tour includes a movie of Alcatraz history and a 35 minute audio headset tour of an Alcatraz cell block.

Cruise aboard the ferry to the infamous and notorious former federal prison - home to the likes of Al Capone, George "Machine Gun" Kelley, and Robert "The Birdman" Stroud. The National Park presents a captioned orientation video with historical footage, self-guided walks, exhibits and Ranger-interpretive talks on topics such as "Famous Escapes." Also featured is an Award-winning audio tour in the prison Cell House with actual interviews of former guards and inmates - available in six languages - English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

To reach the Cell House, you must walk up a steep hill. In addition to the famous prison, Alcatraz features some of the most spectacular views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge from the beautifully landscaped Agave Trail.

After the tour there is time to visit the Alcatraz Museum, the bookshop and explore the island. Stay as long as you like ferries depart every 1/2 hour back to San Francisco. Average time spent on Alcatraz is 1 1/2 - 3 hours.

Please note: The walk to the Alcatraz Cellhouse is on steep, uneven pavement. Sustainable Easy Access Transport is available, free of cost, for wheelchair users and visitors unable to walk up the quarter mile, 12% upgrade. No animals, except certified service animals are allowed on Alcatraz Island.

• Departure Location: Guest are asked to meet at The Sightseeing Ticket Office at 2800 Leavenworth Street, San Francisco, CA 94133 located in Fisherman's Wharf. There is ample paid parking lots and very limited metered street parking is available. Guests should meet at this address 15 minutes prior to departure.

ALCATRAZ FERRY AND ISLAND IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Alcatraz Ferry departs from Pier 33 along the San Francisco Embarcadero. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure time for boarding.

• On-street parking in the Fisherman's Wharf area can be hard to find, and nearly every space has a parking meter. Parking meters take nickels, dimes and quarters. Commerical Parking: There are fifteen commercial lots with a five-block radius of the Alcatraz Landing at Pier 33, with a total of more than 3,000 parking spaces. The closest and most convenient lot is at 80 Francisco at Kearny, just one block away, across the Embarcadero from Alcatraz Landing.

• Handicap Accessibility: Visitors unable to make the climb up Alcatraz's roads may take advantage of SEAT - Sustainable Easy Access Transport - an electric shuttle that meets each scheduled arrival at the Alcatraz dock and transports visitors requiring mobility assistance from the dock to the prison building. SEAT returns visitors requiring mobility assistance from the prison building back to the dock at regular intervals throughout the day. Visitors requiring mobility assistance may be accompanied by one attendant in their party if space is available. Families with small children and strollers cannot be accommodated on SEAT. The following areas are completely wheelchair accessible: Alcatraz dock area, Prison building main floor, All bookstores, Museum displays and Island theater.

• The Alcatraz Ferry operates year round. Reservations are limited to 8 tickets and are available for purchase for the next 60 days. If you book 60 or more days in advance we will process your sightseeing tour reservation now and hold and book the Alcatraz Ferry as the dates are released to the public. Wine Country Tour Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations within 48 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 48 hours are charged a $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for no shows. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.

Alcatraz Cancellation Policy:

Alcatraz Tickets are Final Sale. Any changes to your Alcatraz departure time must be done 48 hours prior to your Alcatraz Cruise date. The National Park Pass is not applicable to the Alcatraz Tour. No exchanges, refunds or cancellations. You may purchase up to 8 tickets on the web. Alcatraz is a National Park and does not offer any refunds or discounts.
