• We will then make a time specific reservation for Alcatraz Ticket(s) as a second reservation-based on availability. This will be a separate charge from The City Tour. See combined totals below. The Alcatraz departure will be schedule on the day after your Day tour unless otherwise specified. When booking you will be given the option to select an approximate Alcatraz departure time. Ferries depart regularly from 9:00am - 4:00pm in Summer Months and 9:00am - 2:00pm in Winter Months. 

• You will receive 2 Confirmation emails. One for your City Tour and One for your Alcatraz Tour. Please print both emailed confirmations. Confirmation process is now complete. Print and present both confirmations upon arrival.

 

Comprehensive Shuttle Tour of San Francisco and Sausalito

This is the only small group shuttle tour that has a separate Tour Guide from driver to provide more intimate communication. Thus, your Tour Guide will get out of the shuttle with you at all stops. Thanks to the 5-Hour Itinerary you will have more tour stops in the city. You will have time to get out of the shuttle at all stops to walk around and take pictures. Ferry to Alcatraz and Alcatraz Island Tour

After a short 10 minute ferry ride from Pier 33 across San Francisco Bay you will arrive on the infamous Alcatraz Island. The tour includes a movie of Alcatraz history and a 35 minute audio headset tour of an Alcatraz cell block.

Cruise aboard the ferry to the infamous and notorious former federal prison - home to the likes of Al Capone, George "Machine Gun" Kelley, and Robert "The Birdman" Stroud. The National Park presents a captioned orientation video with historical footage, self-guided walks, exhibits and Ranger-interpretive talks on topics such as "Famous Escapes." Also featured is an Award-winning audio tour in the prison Cell House with actual interviews of former guards and inmates - available in six languages - English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

To reach the Cell House, you must walk up a steep hill. In addition to the famous prison, Alcatraz features some of the most spectacular views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge from the beautifully landscaped Agave Trail.

After the tour there is time to visit the Alcatraz Museum, the bookshop and explore the island. Stay as long as you like ferries depart every 1/2 hour back to San Francisco. Average time spent on Alcatraz is 1 1/2 - 3 hours.

Please note: The walk to the Alcatraz Cellhouse is on steep, uneven pavement. Sustainable Easy Access Transport is available, free of cost, for wheelchair users and visitors unable to walk up the quarter mile, 12% upgrade. No animals, except certified service animals are allowed on Alcatraz Island.

• Currently, our shuttles are not wheel chair accessible. However smaller fold-up wheel chairs (which are rare) sometimes do fit on our shuttles. If you have a wheel chair, please notify us so we can give you a free seat next to you to store it.

ALCATRAZ FERRY AND ISLAND IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Alcatraz Ferry departs from Pier 33 along the San Francisco Embarcadero. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure time for boarding.

• On-street parking in the Fisherman's Wharf area can be hard to find, and nearly every space has a parking meter. Parking meters take nickels, dimes and quarters. Commerical Parking: There are fifteen commercial lots with a five-block radius of the Alcatraz Landing at Pier 33, with a total of more than 3,000 parking spaces. The closest and most convenient lot is at 80 Francisco at Kearny, just one block away, across the Embarcadero from Alcatraz Landing.

• Handicap Accessibility: Visitors unable to make the climb up Alcatraz's roads may take advantage of SEAT - Sustainable Easy Access Transport - an electric shuttle that meets each scheduled arrival at the Alcatraz dock and transports visitors requiring mobility assistance from the dock to the prison building. SEAT returns visitors requiring mobility assistance from the prison building back to the dock at regular intervals throughout the day. Visitors requiring mobility assistance may be accompanied by one attendant in their party if space is available. Families with small children and strollers cannot be accommodated on SEAT. The following areas are completely wheelchair accessible: Alcatraz dock area, Prison building main floor, All bookstores, Museum displays and Island theater.

• The Alcatraz Ferry operates year round. Reservations are limited to 8 tickets and are available for purchase for the next 60 days. If you book 60 or more days in advance we will process your sightseeing tour reservation now and hold and book the Alcatraz Ferry as the dates are released to the public. City Tour Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

This tour must be booked 24 hours in advance. You will receive an immediate confirmation email with an E-Ticket Voucher for your Double Decker Tour. Print this voucher and present the SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers. Your voucher must be printed. No Exceptions.

Alcatraz Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

You will be receiving a separate confirmation email within 12-24 Hours with Alcatraz Tickets and all necessary details. Alcatraz Tickets are only available for booking for the next 60 days. Confirmation of Alcatraz Tickets, that are booked 60 days or more in advance, will be sent when tickets become available for booking.

City Tour Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations within 48 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge 100% for No Shows. If the tour is cancelled by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.

Alcatraz Cancellation Policy:

Alcatraz Tickets are Final Sale. Any changes to your Alcatraz departure time must be done 48 hours prior to your Alcatraz Cruise date. The National Park Pass is not applicable to the Alcatraz Tour. No exchanges, refunds or cancellations. You may purchase up to 8 tickets on the web. Alcatraz is a National Park and does not offer any refunds or discounts.
