Eat Your Way through Chinatown - Culinary and Walking Tour

There are two Chinatowns, one that you see from a van or bus, and the one that can only be experienced on foot in the back alleys, food markets, and local restaurants. One Chinatown, the one from the bus, is interesting. Our Chinatown will surprise you with new adventures around every corner. In our Chinatown, artisans form Fortune Cookies by hand. In our Chinatown, artisans practice their craft in small alleys using techniques handed down for thousands of years. And in our Chinatown, the authentic cuisine will enliven your senses with new flavors, smells, and aromas. We’ll explore exotic and unique Asian produce, herbs, and teas from the very people who know them best. We’ll uncover their hidden secrets only intrepid locals know. Join our sojourn into the hidden Chinatown and you too will be amazed.

Eat Your Way through North Beach - Culinary and Walking Tour

North Beach awakens your senses, from the cafés and restaurants, to the smell of fresh-baked bread in the air. Just when you think you can’t feel any more romantic, you discover quaint shops with incredible crafts and ceramics that fill you with a sense of awe. We explore the life of North Beach, as we join family bakers kneading love into every loaf of bread. And just when you think that you can’t be in any more of food heaven, we visit real coffee shops fresh roasting coffee beans daily. Eat your way through Fisherman's Wharf - Culinary and Walking Tour

Locals know where to find San Francisco’s Maritime’s Heart, and so will you during our adventure into the City’s waterfront. From incredible art deco murals that echo the City’s maritime past, to fish processing plants of San Francisco today, we’ll explore up close and personal Fisherman’s Wharf from an insider’s view. We’ll not only see Sea Lions and Elephant Seals, but also have a naturalist describe their habitats and lives.

We couldn’t think of going through the waterfront without sampling some of the freshest seafood and San Francisco’s world famous sourdough. We’ll even satisfy your chocolate sweet tooth. From the sea to the confectionery shops, we’ll explore every corner of the Wharf.

Eat your way through BOTH Chinatown and North Beach - Evening Culinary and Walking Tour

On their own, Chinatown and North Beach stir your senses. Together, they awaken you to new flavors, new cultures, and to parts of your heart. We’ll start by exploring Chinatown by twilight, including tasting dim sum from one of the oldest bakeries in Chinatown. We’ll delve into Chinese mysticism and culture, as we explore local sculpture and architecture. Tea is to Chinatown as North Beach is to coffee and we’ll try both. We’ll search out authentic Chinese and Italian crafts and pottery. We’ll uncover their hidden secrets only intrepid locals know. And you’ll be astonished by the new finds in secret alcoves.

Come join our small group, behind-the-scenes tours of North Beach, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, the Haight, and Golden Gate Park. You'll feel like a local as you meet local artisans, taste the food, see how it's made, and feel like a San Franciscian.

Unique tours, where you’ll be amazed by everything that’s included at such an affordable price; where there are never additional costs. For example, on our North Beach tour, you’ll have everything from fresh roasted coffee, focaccia sandwiches, fresh truffles, and a wonderful variety of baked goods fresh from 125-year-old brick ovens, pastries, olive oil tastings and more. And just when you think nothing more could be included, you’ll be surprised by another new craft or treat that is part of the tour.

Personal tours, whether you join us by yourself or with friends or family, where we ensure your enjoyment by limiting our tour sizes to 8-10 people or less and keeping our tours affordable. If your group is over 10 people we'll customize a tour for your group. Whether your group is 15, 50, or more, we'll make sure that you have a phenomenal time.

After Tour Meal Option:

As you'll be eating during the tour, we recommend that you decide whether to add the optional meal after the tour is over. You can skip the meal, have it after the tour, or have it anytime in the future. As an example, on the North Beach tour, you'll have everything from coffee drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, etc), chocolates, breads, olive oil tasting, specialty meats, pastries, and more. On the Chinatown or Night tours, you'll have everything from dim sum (at least five or six types), fortune cookies, teas, and more. Many of our guests are, to put it mildly, not hungry, and you're not going to know that until after the tour is over.

If you decide to enjoy the optional meal after the tour, you’ll have a meal at a top-rated San Francisco restaurant and indulge in the chef’s favorite dishes. You’ll have the advantage of our connections and have an amazing meal for an amount that only friends of the chef would usually have, for far less than you’d be able to get on your own. The optional complete meal after the tour (with wine, desert, and several courses) is an additional $20.00 to 25.00 per person. You are welcome to enjoy the meal privately or as part of a group.

The tours are easy three hour strolls, followed by the option of a complete meal. We recommend that you allow yourself at least an hour for the meal. The meals are really incredible and we recommend that you give yourself time to relax and enjoy them.
