Before
Fisherman’s Wharf was even on the map, the Boudin French Bakery was making
bread for San Franciscans. Through a compelling array of historic photos, artifacts,
and interactive exhibits, you will discover the history of Boudin, the events
and personalities surrounding its origins, and the art and science behind our
original San Francisco Sourdough.
The bakery at the Wharf includes a 30-foot observation window along Jefferson Street, and a glass-walled catwalk suspended directly over the action. Watch as the flour is pumped at high velocity from our on-site silo directly into the mixer, and as the dough is tossed from the mezzanine to the ground floor, where it is hand-finished and baked into nearly 10,000 loaves of fresh sourdough, French, and European hearth breads every day.
HOURS: Open Monday - Thursday 12:00pm - 5:00pm Friday - Sunday 10am - 5pm Closed Christmas Day
